The 20th Congress Report of the Chinese Communist Party specifies the five characteristics and nine requirements of the Chinese Path to Modernization. Information technologies have facilitated China’s modernization in different ways at different historical stages. Currently digital transformation is an important part of and support for the high-quality development of the economy and the society. The huge population, common prosperity for all, material and cultural-ethical advancement, harmony between humanity and nature, and peaceful development all depend on digital transformation. In the meantime, digital transformation must conform to the value requirement and institutional norms of the Chinese path to modernization. |
